WHO WAS ALFREDO SALDIVAR ???

THIS IS THE START OF A WEBPAGE TO TRY AND LEARN WHO ALFREDO SALDIVAR WAS, AND MAYBE HIS FAMILY ALSO, WHO TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY IN EUROPE IN THE YEARS 1912-14. FRANCE, GERMANY, ITALY, SPAIN, NORTH AFRICA..ETC.

In 1965 I bought a set of about 800 stereoscopic negatives in a Washington ,D.C. antique/2nd hand store. These images of the family travels has long peaked my curiosity as to who this man and the family was. The stereo camera was bought from the famous French camera company Richard, then located in Vincennes, a suburb of Paris, France. Since many of the negative envelopes are not dated, I must use those that are to make some judgements about the time of travels. In mid-June/July 1912 the family is on the west coast of France and travelling in Normandy and Brittany. There seems to be five people plus the photographer. They travel by automobile in most places. They are obviously well-to-do, middle or upper class, economically. (who else could afford such trips!).

In Mexico City, a woman (daughter looks like) and 3 young girls are photographed with a handsome matronly lady who, I suspect, is a grandmother to those girls. She lives in a very nice upscale community of Mexico City that is very close to the Revolution Monument. The photos from the roof of the woman show that. (PAGE 3) Saldivar, the assumed photographer of the group, copies a business or calling card, it has the address of 4a, Humboldt, #37.(but it does not specify a city - Mexico City is assumed for now) Photos include pictures of "Banos Garcia" - a well dressed gentleman who apparently owns a very up scale public (or upper class private) bath - again, assume in Mexico City. Mr. Garcia does not appear to be one of the travellers, but is apparently a friend of the group. This photo probably taken in the mid-1920's.

I will be posting photos of this group in the hopes of identifying Mr. Saldivar and the other members of this travelling family. It is hoped that others may recognize this man/family and help flesh out this mystery.

En 1965 compré un juego de aproximadamente 800 negativas estereoscópicas en un Washington, D.C. tienda de mano antigua/2a. Estas imágenes de los viajes de familia han alcanzado su punto máximo mucho tiempo mi curiosidad en cuanto a a quién este hombre y la familia eran. La cámara estérea fue comprada de la compañía de cámara francesa famosa Richard, luego localizó en Vincennes, un barrio residencial de París, Francia.

Ya que muchos de los sobres negativos no son datados, debo usar aquellos que deben hacer algunos juicios sobre el tiempo de viajes. En 1912 Mid-June/July la familia está en la costa de Oeste de Francia y viajando en Normandía y Bretaña. Parecen haber cinco personas más el fotógrafo. Ellos viajan por el coche en la mayor parte de sitios. Ellos son obviamente acomodados, medios o clase alta, económicamente. ¡(quién más podría permitirse tales viajes!).

En Ciudad de México, una mujer (la hija parece) y 3 muchachas jóvenes es fotografiada con una hermosa señora de matrona que, sospecho, es una abuela a aquellas muchachas. Ella vive en una comunidad de alta calidad muy agradable de Ciudad de México que está muy cerca del Monumento de Revolución. Las fotos de la azotea de la mujer muestran esto. (La PÁGINA 3) El Saldivar, el fotógrafo asumido del grupo, copia un negocio o la tarjeta de visita, esto tiene la dirección de 4a, Humboldt, *37. (pero esto no especifica una ciudad - Ciudad de México es asumida por el momento)

Las fotos incluyen cuadros 'de Banos Garcia' - un señor bien vestido que por lo visto posee un muy público de escala (o clase alta privada) baño - otra vez, asuma en Ciudad de México. Sr. Garcia no parece ser uno de los viajeros, pero es por lo visto un amigo del grupo. Esta foto probablemente tomado a mediados de los años 1920. Fijaré fotos de este grupo en las esperanzas de Sr. Saldivar que se identifica y los otros miembros de esta familia de viajes. Es esperado que los otros pueden reconocer que este hombre/familia y ayuda desarrollan este misterio.
